Sausage-Cheddar Quiche
Breakfast

pastry for 9-inch pie, cooked for 8 min.
1 lb. sausage
1-1/2 c shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 c mushrooms, sliced (can use a can of mushrooms, drained)
1/2 c chopped onion
1/4 c chopped green pepper
1/2 t dried basil
1/8 t garlic powder
4 large eggs, beaten
1 c milk
paprika

Brown sausage in a large skillet, stirring until it crumbles.  Drain and cool.  Combine sausage, cheese and next 5 ingredients into prepared pie crust. 

Beat eggs and milk at medium speed with an electric mixer until blended.  Pour over sausage mixture, sprinkle lightly with paprika. 

Bake at 325 F for 50 minutes or until set.  (Check by inserting a knife.  When it comes out clean, the quiche is done!)  Let stand 10 minutes before serving.

When making my own crust, I add about 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper to the crust.
