Breakfast Strata
Breakfast

5 eggs
1/2 c cream
salt & pepper
herbs (basil, parsley, marjoram, thyme, etc.)
1/4 t garlic powder
white or sourdough bread
1/2 c vegetable (zucchini, broccoli, asparagus, mushrooms, etc.)
1/2 lb meat (ham, bacon, sausage, etc.)
2 c Monterey Jack cheese

Grease a 8x8 pan. 

Mix eggs, cream salt, pepper, herbs and garlic.  Cut 2-3 slices of bread into small chunks, and spread across the bottom of the pan.  Layer veggies on the bread.  Top with cheese.  Pour the egg mixture over it.  Bake at 350F for ~45 minutes.

This is best when assembled the day before serving, covered with plastic wrap and refrigerated overnight.

zucchini & goat cheese
broccoli & ham
leek (sauteed) & feta
sauteed mushrooms & thyme
spinach & scallion
